I also implemented Concur using the SAAS model and have been very pleased with the implementation and integration with our ERP (Oracle) system.

We purchased the service through ADP, however, you may be able to get a better deal going direct to Concur Click here to go to the Concur site.

We were able to improve the overall T&E process.

Some of the components of the solution space are:

Concur Expense management with full integration to your ERP A/P module. Concur also had direct Amex feed that linked line item details on the expense report with actual expense items on the Amex monthly statement. Concur runs as a SaaS, monthly fee per expense report processed.

Stellent Content Management software (now part of Oracle) with full integration with ERP A/P module was used for document archiving and imaging. High volume scanning was done by Bell and Howell scanners. Auto indexing was done through bar codes.

We auto-scanned and archived a lot of back office documents, not just payable Invoices.

SaaS model for document imaging is also available.

The problem:

Mineral company KaMin Performance Minerals was spending way too much money on accounts-payable processing. Further, employees were spending too much time in Excel and didn’t have integrated solutions.

Due to the complexities of KaMin’s accounts, Senad Hadzic, CIO, needed a world-class IT infrastructure. He also needed a better system that was more efficient and used less paper.

The solution:

Hadzic built a shared financial services center that increased knowledge sharing and reduced cumbersome data entry. As it was a paperless system, paper expenditures were eliminated drastically. Further, the expense management system was off the shelf. He even used Atlanta-area vendors, further boosting the local economy.

Hadzic implemented a paperless system that could be integrated with all relative systems. He also installed an imaging system that could reduce the amount of paper “floating around the office,” he said.

The end result was an astonishing 50 percent cost savings on accounts-payable processing!

Your take:

Are Excel forms killing your efficiency? What are some cost-effective accounts payable implementations you’ve seen? What is the worst?
